Passers-by pull suspected drink-driver from car

A video has captured the moment a motorist suspected of drink-driving was pulled from his car by two members of the public.

The 21-second clip shows the man being told to "get up" from the ground as he sits on the road next to his vehicle in Eastwood Road North, Leigh-on-Sea in Essex.

Footage, first reported by Your Southend, shows traffic building up as the incident unfolds following a collision between two cars at about 12:00 GMT on 20 December.

Essex Police confirmed to the BBC that a 53-year-old was arrested and appeared at Southend Magistrates' Court on 30 December, where he admitted drink-driving. He was banned from driving for 20 months.
