Twenty-five thousand people put on their running shoes to take part in the AJ Bell Great Bristol Run with thousands lining the route to cheer them on.

Dogs and horses were invited to Gloucestershire Cathedral, in a service to celebrate their contributions as service animals.

And across the West, politics, the arts and horseracing have all been captured by cameras this week.

Bristol

Bear love: Some 1,000 participants from the Bristol Bears Foundation attended the Bristol Bears match v Saracens match at Ashton Gate on Sunday, with many getting the chance to play on the pitch at half time.

New look: Some of the UK and Europe's most celebrated street artists have finished their work in at Quakers Friars in the city ahead of Upfest, adding a touch of colour to the centre.

Awards night glow: North Somerset Council and North Somerset Environment Company (NSEC) are celebrating national recognition after winning two awards for their work in becoming the first local authority in England to introduce a district-wide kerbside collection of soft plastics.
