Top international riders across dressage, cross-country and showjumping gathered for the Badminton Horse Trials in Gloucestershire.

There were tributes - both painted and knitted - to Sir David Attenborough in celebration of the broadcaster's 100th birthday this week.

And the 2026 Cheltenham Jazz Festival celebrated its most successful year to date with more tickets sold than ever before.

Life on Earth: A postbox topper was spotted in Sea Mills this week in honour of Sir David's 100th birthday this week.

Spirit of rock: Bristol's legendary Metal Quarter has a new landmark. The winning mural by artist and musician Brandon Burch has been installed on the side of The Gryphon, one of the city's "most iconic" rock venues, following a National Album Day competition.

Gloucestershire

Record numbers: Cheltenham Jazz Festival sold more than 41,000 tickets over the Bank Holiday weekend - reaffirming its place as one of Europe's leading music festivals.

Royal rosette: Queen Camilla attended the Badminton Horse Trials on Friday, supporting the event's charity, which this year was the Ebony Horse Club.

The community stables in London helps young people from disadvantaged backgrounds through horse riding and training.

Step back in time: A new model of Gloucester Railway Station installed in the waiting room recreates the station across multiple eras.

The diorama spans from the steam locomotive age of the 1880s through to the present day, celebrating 200 years of the railway.

Celebrations: The Somerset-based charity Thrive has been hosting tea parties across the county to mark 100 years of supporting local communities.

'Fantastic achievement': The City of Bath Male Choir were crowned 'overall best choir' and 'best UK male choir' at the Cornwall International Male Choral Festival with performances in Truro Cathedral and Redruth's St Andrew's Church.

Wiltshire

'It's me, hay, I'm the problem it's me': The Urchfont Scarecrow Festival was back over the Bank Holiday weekend, with American chart-topper Taylor Swift among the straw creations.

Held since the 1990s, the event attracts thousands of visitors and raises money for local charities and causes.
