Residents in some parts of Somerset and Wiltshire were badly affected by flooding and remained on high alert for more rain throughout the week.

Surprise visit: Formula One champion Lando Norris visited his former primary school in Bristol this week. Norris spoke to the children at Chew Valley Church School about what motivated him and the importance of being determined when reaching for your goals.

Windrush generation: Tributes were paid to May Tanner this week, who was the first Black ward sister at the Bristol Royal Infirmary. She died of a stroke in January at the age of 93.
Noah's Ark ZooAnimal enrichment: Noah's Ark Zoo Farm in North Somerset has recycled and chipped a record 4,000 real Christmas trees. The larger branches provide browse for the herd of African bull elephants, while the meerkats, otters and capybaras benefit from mulch that encourages natural digging and scent-tracking behaviours.

Wells CathedralMajor refurb: Nearly 4,000 pipes have been removed from the organ at Wells Cathedral this week. Packed into 60 crates, they have been transported to a Durham workshop of organ builders as part of a £3m renovation project.

Fruity BlissHow do you like them apples? A fruit and vegetable stall at Swindon's Brunel Centre is marking its first anniversary and celebrating doubling its turnover in 12 months. The team at Fruity Bliss said it had built a loyal following since it opened, with customers travelling from as far afield as Newbury and Bristol.

Barn TheatreMen Behaving Badly: A play of the hit 1990s sitcom has arrived at The Barn Theatre in Cirencester, Gloucestershire. It stars Ross Carswell as Gary, Matt Howdon as Tony, and Ellie Nunn as Dorothy. The stage adaptation was written by Simon Nye, who wrote the sitcom, and will be at the theatre until 7 March.
BBC Weather Watchers/Sodbury JoggerSnowdrop season: It has been a bit of a dreary week for most but snowdrops have been bringing a smile during the cold and damp weather. These blooms were spotted in Kingscote, Gloucestershire.
Susan ReddanLove is in the air: This knitted post box topper spotted in Berry Hill, near Coleford in Gloucestershire, was getting local residents in the mood for Valentine's Day.
PA MediaTea at Highgrove: Volunteers and staff from cancer charities across Gloucestershire were invited to the King's residence near Tetbury on Wednesday, which was World Cancer Day. There was swing dancing, live music and afternoon tea in what marked the first of the royal residence's Winter Warmer series - a number of events aimed at bringing members of the community together.
