Choristers from Wells Cathedral have been getting ready for pancake day with a tricky race down the town's historic Vicar's Close.

Elsewhere, the floodwaters across the region have continued to provide some evocative images - including one of Silbury Hill near Avebury.

Residents in some parts of Somerset and Wiltshire were badly affected by flooding and remained on high alert for more rain throughout the week.

Elsewhere, people have been enjoying some hints that spring is on its way with snowdrops spotted in Gloucestershire.

Animal enrichment: Noah's Ark Zoo Farm in North Somerset has recycled and chipped a record 4,000 real Christmas trees. The larger branches provide browse for the herd of African bull elephants, while the meerkats, otters and capybaras benefit from mulch that encourages natural digging and scent-tracking behaviours.

Major refurb: Nearly 4,000 pipes have been removed from the organ at Wells Cathedral this week. Packed into 60 crates, they have been transported to a Durham workshop of organ builders as part of a £3m renovation project.

Thrilling comeback: Team Bath Netball were edged out in extra time during a "pulsating" high-scoring NXT Gen League showdown against Nottingham Forest. The capacity crowd roared the women back from an early deficit, but a two-point super shot helped the visitors to a 68-65 success.

Men Behaving Badly: A play of the hit 1990s sitcom has arrived at The Barn Theatre in Cirencester, Gloucestershire. It stars Ross Carswell as Gary, Matt Howdon as Tony, and Ellie Nunn as Dorothy. The stage adaptation was written by Simon Nye, who wrote the sitcom, and will be at the theatre until 7 March.

Tea at Highgrove: Volunteers and staff from cancer charities across Gloucestershire were invited to the King's residence near Tetbury on Wednesday, which was World Cancer Day. There was swing dancing, live music and afternoon tea in what marked the first of the royal residence's Winter Warmer series - a number of events aimed at bringing members of the community together.
