Men stuck on sand banks in the sea rescued
Footage has shown two men being rescued from neck-high water after they got stuck on sand banks in the sea.
Kent Police said the men were 10 minutes away from being completely submerged by the rising tide, after they walked on to the banks from Southend-on-Sea in Essex.
The force's Search and Marine Unit officers said they located the pair with the help of the coastguard, after receiving a distress call at about 10.45 GMT last Wednesday while on patrol in the Thames Estuary.
The men, aged in their 20s and 30s, were pulled to safety before being taken to Southend Pier for assessment by paramedics.
