Girl, 17, dies after three-car crash

A 17-year-old girl has died after a crash involving a pedestrian and three cars.

Gwent Police said its officers attended the incident on the A4042 in Cwmbran, Torfaen, alongside the Welsh Ambulance Service, after being called to the scene at about 12:25 GMT on Thursday.

The force said the teenager, from Caldicot, was pronounced dead at the scene and her family have been informed.

The road between the Crown and Turnpike roundabouts was partially closed with diversions in place as officers conducted their investigation.
