Moment driver's 100mph police chase ends in lorry crash
This was the dramatic moment a high-speed police chase stopped Dwayne Zungunde in his tracks.
The 23-year-old was captured on police dashcam footage weaving in and out of traffic at about 100mph (160km/h) on the A4042 in Cwmbran, Torfaen, in a bid to get away from police.
His escape came to a halt when he crashed his black Volkswagen Golf into a lorry and a car while trying to overtake queuing traffic, before attempting to flee on foot in the incident on 28 January.
Zungunde, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to multiple driving offences and was sentenced to eight months in prison at Newport Magistrates’ Court on 30 January. He was also disqualified from driving for two years and four months.
