The next stage of improvements to enhance public facilities at Wolverhampton's Central Library has been completed

A section of Wolverhampton's Grade II*-listed central library has reopened following a revamp.

The ground floor adult lending library has been renovated with new flooring and shelving, as well as the creation of a new rear entrance lobby that will be brought into use later in 2026.

Heritage restoration works to the exterior of the building are also near completion, the council has said.

The project forms part of the £61m City Learning Quarter programme.

Further works on the quarter set to be carried out include internal re-modelling and refurbishment of Adult Education Wolverhampton's Alan Garner Building on Old Hall Street.

There will also be construction of a two-storey glazed link building to connect it directly to central library's 1930s extension.

Councillor Chris Burden, said: "The improvement works to central library and our adult education facilities are integral to our City Learning Quarter vision alongside the new college campus that opened to students in November."
