Library to reopen after months of refurbishment
Kent County CouncilA library in Kent is to reopen on Monday after undergoing months of refurbishment.
Sittingbourne Library in Central Avenue is now a "bright and welcoming shared space", Kent County Council has said.
It closed in November, but is to offer community activities, birth and death registrations, and support services for children and young people.
Family Hub services, in addition to those already offered in the area, will move in from 22 April.
Councillor Chris Palmer said: "Having Family Hubs and libraries as a co-location means both services can support each other under one roof.
"I hope this will make it easier for children, young people and their families to access the help, activities and opportunities they need."
Sittingbourne Library is one of seven libraries in Kent which will offer family services.
Temple Hill, Cranbrook and Stanhope libraries have already opened. Sites in Queenborough, Cliftonville and Sevenoaks will follow in the coming months.
