Man held after children seriously injured in crash

Two children have been seriously injured in a crash involving a car which failed to stop for police.

The grey Vauxhall Zafira hit a tree in Homewood Avenue, Sittingbourne shortly after 16:00 GMT on Thursday after it was followed by officers, Kent Police said.

A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving and drug possession offences.

Officers are appealing for witnesses and any footage relating to the crash.
