Kent Police received multiple reports that windows of businesses in Ramsgate had been smashed

A man has been arrested following reports that windows of several businesses in Ramsgate were smashed overnight, police have said.

Kent Police said it received multiple reports on Friday evening that windows of businesses in York Street, Queen Street, King Street and High Street had been broken with a metal pole.

Officers attended the scene and a man was arrested in connection with the incidents on Saturday morning, said the force.

The arrested man, 39, remains in custody while enquiries continue, it added.
