A section of the M2 in Kent has reopened after a fatal crash involving a car and a motorcycle led to both carriageways being shut for hours on Sunday.

The motorcyclist died in the collision, which happened at about 06:30 GMT on the London-bound carriageway between junction five, near Sittingbourne, and junction four, near Bredhurst, said police.

Drivers were diverted around the closure following the crash, with those travelling from the Port of Dover being advised to use the M20.

Just after 17:45, National Highways said on X both carriageways had been reopened.
