The south London rugby player taking on Gladiators

A woman from Croydon will be flying the flag for south London in the quarter-finals of the hit TV show Gladiators.

Emily Bell will also be cheered on by everyone at Sunbury-based women's Rugby League club London Broncos for whom she plays.

She became the first contender to hold out against the mighty Gladiator, Cyclone, in Duel during the heats.

Bell credits playing rugby for giving her the resilience and strength she needs for the competition.

The Gladiators is on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from 20:00 GMT.
