Landslip railway line closure extended

The expected closure of a railway line between West Sussex and Surrey following a landslip has been extended until at least the middle of next month.

A landslip on an embankment south of Ockley meant that one of the two lines between Horsham and Dorking was closed on Friday evening, with the second line closed on Monday.

Network Rail had originally scheduled the line to be closed until at the earliest this Friday, but now says it will be shut until "at least" 16 February, as repairs are carried out.

No trains will serve Warnham, Ockley or Holmwood stations throughout the closure.
