World's first radar station at risk from coastal erosion
The remains of the world's first radar station in Suffolk could be lost to the sea due to erosion in as little as a year.
The transmitter block at Bawdsey played a crucial role in defeating the Luftwaffe during the Battle of Britain in 1940.
The charity Bawdsey Radar Trust, which runs the site, is warning that a vital part of the nation's history could be lost forever.
Clare Sullivan, chair of Bawdsey Radar Trust, said: "It is terrifying. The speed at which the cliff is disappearing has to be concerning for everyone."
