Burst hydrant causes water to fire into air
Crowds watched in shock and awe after a fountain of water shot 20ft (6m) into the air due a failed fire hydrant at a crossroads.
The water gushed out of the middle of a street in Lowestoft at about 16:40 GMT on Monday.
The fault, which happened at the junction of Rotterdam Road and Norwich Road, was repaired by 22:00, but a road closure is due to remain in place until Thursday afternoon.
Essex & Suffolk Water said: "Within 20 minutes our crews were on site and immediately began the complex process of shutting off the water so that repairs could get under way."
