McLaren supercar seized on A1(M) near Peterborough

The driver of a black McLaren has had their car seized by police and been warned it could be scrapped.

Cambridgeshire Police said it was stopped on the A1(M) near Peterborough on Thursday.

In a Facebook post, the force said: "The driver can have it back when they can prove there's valid insurance."

It added that vehicles seized in these circumstances can be either scrapped or sold if proof of insurance is not provided within 14 days.

'Astonishingly dangerous' pursuit at 80mph in city

The man in his 40s died at the scene on the A1 near Foston in the early hours of Friday morning.

The family of a couple killed in a crash on the A1 say they were "deeply devoted" to their 10 grandchildren.

Police attended the scene and one lane was closed, says National Highways.

Police say a man has been arrested in connection with the crash near Denwick after two people died.

Long diversions were in place for about 14 hours on Wednesday but the road is now open.
