There was a road closure in place at Denwick for about 14 hours

A crash involving three vehicles closed part of the A1 in both directions for most of Wednesday.

The collision happened at about 07:40 GMT near Buckton Moor in Northumberland.

The road between the B1340 at Denwick and the A1167 at Berwick-upon-Tweed was shut with diversions put in place.

National Highways said the A1 reopened in both directions at about 22:00 GMT and the vehicles had been removed from the carriageway.
