The A14 eastbound carriageway near Bury St Edmunds was shut due to a crash

A busy road was closed and a diversion put in place after a crash.

The A14 eastbound carriageway was closed between junction 40 and junction 41 near Kentford and Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk at about 11:30 GMT.

Police officers attended the scene and a diversion was put in place by National Highways.

According to the highways agency, vehicle recovery was at the scene at about 12:30 before the road reopened at 16:15.
