'Possible explosive' turns out to be a replica

A cordon put in place after a suspected unexploded device was found has been lifted after the object turned out to be a replica.

People living in Malvern Road in Gorse Hill, Swindon, were told by police to leave their homes when the device was found earlier.

Wiltshire Police said the 100m (328ft) cordon has now been lifted after it was "found to be a replica".

"Thank you again for your patience while this was dealt with," a spokesperson for the force added.
