There was "significant antisocial behaviour" at the Swindon branch, police said

Two arrests have been made after a police community support officer and a member of the public were assaulted at a McDonald's restaurant.

The victims were pushed but didn't suffer any injuries during the disorder in Swindon town centre on the evening of 18 February, according to Wiltshire Police.

The force said it had received a number of calls about "significant antisocial behaviour" by a "a group of youths".

Officers said the youths were thought to have become aggressive towards McDonald's staff and members of the public at the Wharf Green branch.

Wiltshire Police implemented a section 35 dispersal order, forcing individuals to leave the area until midnight on Thursday.

Officers are appealing for the member of the public who was assaulted to come forward.

Insp Jamie Brown said: "We appreciate the significant distress that [Wednesday's] disorder caused for workers, shoppers and residents in Swindon town centre and we are urgently looking into who was involved.

"Anybody found to be involved in antisocial behaviour will be dealt with swiftly and robustly."
