Four men have been arrested on suspicion of firearms-related offences after a major police operation.

Part of Galsworthy Close in the Liden area of Swindon, Wiltshire, was cordoned off in the morning of 25 February with local people told to avoid the area.

Police say they carried out a pre-planned drugs warrant at an address on the street, with support from specialist firearms officers. The four suspects arrested are currently in police custody.

Inspector Joe Senior said: "I would like to thank the local community for their support while we conducted this operation, which has now been resolved peacefully.

"In addition to local firearms officers, Wiltshire Police was also supported by specialist firearms officers from the Counter Terrorism Specialist Firearms unit.

"For clarity it is common practice for forces to utilise the specialist skills those officers provide."

Police say there were no reported injuries in the incident, which also saw the fire service and ambulance crews in attendance.
