Man and two boys arrested on suspicion of poaching

The arrests were made after officers were called to reports of poaching on land just before Swinefleet on Monday

A man and two boys have been arrested on suspicion of poaching on land near Goole.

Officers were called to out to the land next to the A161 just outside Swinefleet at about 10:00 GMT on Monday, Humberside Police said.

Following a pursuit of a silver Mercedes which began on the A161 heading towards Eastoft and ended in Scunthorpe, officers arrested two boys, aged 14 and 16, on suspicion of poaching, trespassing with intent to search for or pursue hares with dogs, dangerous driving, failing to stop and criminal damage.

A 25-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of poaching, driving dangerously, and failing to stop. All three have been bailed pending further investigation.

The force said it was still trying to locate another car believed to have been involved, a blue Subaru, as well as other people involved in the incident.

It also urged anyone who was in the area at the time to get in touch.
