Irish Sea gales see two ferry sailings cancelled
IOMSPCTwo ferry sailings between the Isle of Man and Lancashire have been cancelled due to gales over the Irish Sea, with a further two sailings at risk.
The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company said journeys of the flagship vessel Manxman at 19:15 GMT on Tuesday and 01:45 on Wednesday would not go ahead.
Passengers have been warned the 08:00 and 13:45 crossings on Wednesday could also be delayed or cancelled.
Those with tickets for affected services could amend their bookings online or by contacting the reservations team, the government-owned ferry firm said.
Ronaldsway Met Office has also issued a yellow weather warning for wintery showers between 03:00 GMT and midday on Wednesday.
Forecasters said accumulations of snow or hail were possible on higher roads, along with a risk of ice in places.
