Train travellers and drivers have been warned of delays after a vehicle has become stuck under a railway bridge.

The vehicle reportedly hit Abbey Farm bridge, near Thetford station, in Norfolk, which has affected Greater Anglia's Norwich to Stansted Airport service that runs through Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.

Traffic had slowed near to Canterbury Way and disruption was expected to train services until further notice, with all trains running through the station at a reduced speed.

The bridge, considered to be one of the most bashed in Britain, would need to be assessed for damage by a specialist, Network Rail said.

Greater Anglia and Network Rail have been contacted for further comment.
