Train operator to introduce additional services
Greater AngliaGreater Anglia is making improvements to timetables across parts of its train network, it has announced.
Changes will take place from 17 May and will see additional services introduced in Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.
Highlights include the London-Norwich intercity service having more stops at Stowmarket in Suffolk, and additional peak services between Norwich and Cambridge, and Ipswich and Cambridge.
Martin Beable, managing director for Greater Anglia, said it would make rail travel "even more attractive and convenient".
"We are always working to refine and improve services across our network in line with local feedback, aspirations, and emerging demand," he explained.
"The positive impact of the introduction of our new trains has seen passenger numbers rise across our regional routes."
The new half-hourly services for Stowmarket will be in place Monday-Saturday "for most of the day", while there will be an extra morning and evening peak service between Ipswich and Cambridge on Monday to Friday.
The same additional peak morning and evening service will be added between Norwich and Cambridge too.
There will also be additional morning and evening peak services between Norwich and Great Yarmouth on Mondays to Fridays.
