Several businesses in the centre of Northampton have been forced to close after a power cut.

National Grid said power was lost at 07:46 GMT when an underground cable fault was discovered in the area around Abington Street, Fish Street and Greyfriars.

It said engineers arrived and found 19 properties without an electricity supply.

Shops affected included Clarks, Ladbrokes and The Fish pub, but some have had power restored.
