An underwater search team has found the body of a man in the River Nene, Northamptonshire Police said.

The force was called to Northampton Marina, off Victoria Promenade, at about 19:30 GMT on Saturday after reports a man was struggling in the water.

A body was found on Tuesday after a four-day search by police, firefighters and volunteers from Northamptonshire Search and Rescue.

An underwater team using specialist thermal imaging equipment made the discovery. Police said formal identification had yet to take place.
