Fire causing disruption to ferry booking system
BBCFerry bookings have been disrupted after a fire caused a reservations system outage.
Guernsey's main ferry operator Brittany Ferries said the incident happened at an IBM data centre, a facility housing IT infrastructure.
A message on the firm's website said the fire meant it was unable to access its reservations system and as a result, customers could not make or amend bookings online or through the contact centre.
On Sunday evening Brittany Ferries said IBM was working to resolve the issue and it was hoped access would be restored "no later than close of play" on Monday. The BBC has contacted company and IBM for further details.
Brittany Ferries, which runs services to Poole, Portsmouth and St Malo to and from Guernsey, said it would keep customers updated while the incident is dealt with.
"Thank you for your patience and understanding," the message on the firm's website said.
