Firefighters have tackled a farmyard blaze that started in a wooden barn and spread to a number of vehicles on the site.

Crews were called to Shopland Road in Sutton, north of Southend-on-Sea, on Monday morning after two tractors, caravans and vans also caught alight.

Essex Fire Service said they had difficulty establishing a water supply and requested a water bowser, and then worked in different sectors to put it out.

The cause of the blaze was accidental, it added.
