A former care home in east Hull could be turned into a facility for mothers and their children

A former care home in east Hull could be turned into a residence for women and their children.

Plans have been submitted for the property off Holderness Road to be converted into a 15-bed house in multiple occupation (HMO).

The site would have trained staff to support the mothers and help prepare them for independent living, the planning documents said.

Local ward councillor Linda Chambers has called the application in, citing concerns over parking and the management of waste disposal.

Eleven of the 15 bedrooms will be for one person and four would have space for two people.

According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, the development has been recommended for approval.

It will be discussed at a Hull City Council planning meeting on Wednesday.
