Counter-terrorism police arrest 33-year-old man

The man was arrested by counter terrorism police on Tuesday

A man has been arrested in Birmingham on suspicion of supporting a banned organisation.

West Midlands Police said counter-terrorism officers detained him at an address in the Saltley area of the city on Tuesday.

The force said the arrest of the 33-year-old had been a pre-planned operation.

The man is currently in custody for questioning and the force said it could not reveal the name of the banned organisation at this stage.
