Terror arrest for alleged Islamic State support
Getty ImagesA man has been arrested on suspicion of supporting the Islamic State group in a social media post, counter-terror police say.
The 35-year-old man was arrested in Eastbourne on Friday morning accused of expressing an opinion in support of the proscribed terror organisation, also known an IS or Daesh.
A spokesperson for Counter Terror Police South East said officers, supported by Sussex Police, are currently searching a property in the town.
Sussex Police Ch Supt Justin Burtenshaw said there was "not believed to be any immediate risk to those in the community".
The suspect remains in police custody, the force added.
