Strong winds have led to the cancellation of ferry sailings between the Isle of Man and Lancashire.

The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company said the 19:15 GMT crossing of the Manxman to Heysham port and its 01:45 Douglas-bound return had been called off.

Ronaldsway Met Office said strong winds hitting the island would see gusts reaching up to 50mph (80km/h) overnight.

The latest travel disruption for Isle of Man passengers follows severe disruption to flights to and from the island due to ice on the airport runway on Sunday and Monday.
