Man faces life sentence for woman's murder
West Yorkshire PoliceA man has been told he faces a life sentence after admitting murdering a 36-year-old mother in Halifax.
Appearing at Bradford Crown Court on Monday, Lee Taylor, 40, admitted killing Paris Kendall in August last year, but a reporting restriction was put in place while he went on trial for a separate offence of wounding with intent.
At the same court on Thursday, a jury found Taylor, of Wellington Place, Halifax, guilty of the wounding offence, which took place three months before he murdered Kendall.
Remanding Taylor in custody, Judge Jonathan Rose, the Recorder of Bradford, told him he would be sentenced for both offences on Wednesday and would receive a life sentence for Kendall's murder.
The judge warned Taylor that if he chose not to attend next week's sentencing hearing, the court would proceed in his absence.
Kendall died after she was found with serious head injuries in Keighley Road, Illingworth, on 13 August.
In a statement released after her death, her family said she was "a much-loved mother, daughter and member of our family".
They added that they had been "left absolutely devastated by her loss".
