A man has appeared in court charged with murder following the death of a woman in Halifax, as her family paid tribute.

Paris Kendall, 36, was found dead on Keighley Road, Illingworth, just after 13:30 BST on Wednesday.

Lee Taylor, 40, of Wellington Place in Halifax, appeared at Leeds Magistrates' Court earlier and will next appear at Bradford Crown Court on Tuesday.

Ms Kendall's family said she was a "much-loved" mother and daughter and they had been left "absolutely devastated by her loss".

"We want to thank all those who have paid such kind tributes to Paris, as they are a source of comfort at what is an awful time," they added.

"We would now respectfully ask for privacy in the days ahead, as we continue to grieve."
