A provisional trial date has been set for man accused of murdering a woman found dead in Halifax.

Paris Kendall, 36, was pronounced dead after she was found with serious head injuries in Keighley Road, Illingworth, on 13 August.

Lee Taylor, 40, of Wellington Place in Halifax, appeared at Bradford Crown Court on Tuesday charged with her murder.

Wearing a grey jumper and blue Puma tracksuit bottoms he spoke only to confirm his name before Judge Jonathan Rose set a plea hearing for 16 September and a provisional trial date for 2 February.

In a statement released following her death, Ms Kendall's family said: "Paris was a much-loved mother, daughter and member of our family, and we have been left absolutely devastated by her loss.

"We want to thank all those who have paid such kind tributes to Paris, as they are a source of comfort at what is an awful time."
