Warning issued for heavy rainfall by Met Office
EPA/ShutterstockA warning for rain covering south-east England has been issued by the Met Office.
A yellow weather warning affecting Kent, Surrey, East Sussex and West Sussex begins at 06:00 GMT on Wednesday and runs until 08:00 on Thursday.
Spells of heavy rain fall are expected, with the worst affected areas likely to see up 50mm (5cm), the Met Office said.
Officials warned of possible flooding, power cuts and disruption to transport.
The warning stretches across the whole of the south coast of England, covering an area between Margate and Penzance, with Cornwall, Dorset, Devon and Hampshire also covered by the warning.
People in areas prone to flooding are advised to prepare an emergency flood kit, the Met Office added.
Additionally, power cuts could be possible, and spray and flooding could make driving conditions tricky and some roads could close, a spokesperson said.
Driving conditions may be affected by spray and standing water, leading to longer journey times by car and bus and delays to train services are possible.
There is also a slight chance of cancellations to train and bus services.
