Mountain Road remains shut amid wintry conditions
DoIHeavy snowfall overnight and further forecasted wintry showers has led to the closure of the Isle of Man's Mountain Road until Monday.
Police said the A18 had been closed from Ramsey to the Creg Ny Baa after the "extremely poor" conditions were judged to pose a "serious road safety issue".
In an update, the Department of Infrastructure said the route was expected to remain shut until Monday due to further wintry conditions on higher ground forecasted.
But the department said it would "continue to monitor conditions throughout the weekend and will reopen the route sooner if it is safe to do so."
A yellow weather warning for frost and ice is in place until 12:00 GMT on Saturday as ground temperatures drop around dusk leading to widespread frost, with ice forming on untreated surfaces.
And a further yellow warning is in place on Saturday from 19:00 until 06:00 for snow and sleet, with accumulations of up to 10cm (3.9inches) expected on the highest hills.
A warning for snow and sleet causing icy conditions on the roads was in place until 09:00.
Forecasters had warned that while the snowfall would initially be confined to the highest ground, above 1,200ft (366m), that would gradually lower to areas as low as 400ft (122m).
