A busy road in the centre of Ramsey will be closed for a month while gas mains are replaced, the Department of Infrastructure (DOI) has confirmed.

Part of Lezayre Road, from its junction with Bircham Avenue to Parliament Square, will be inaccessible from 30 March to 27 April.

The road is a key link for people accessing Ramsey from the west of the island, as well as to and from the town's primary and secondary schools.

While only a relatively small section of road will be affected, the DOI said its closure would likely cause traffic delays. A diversion through Bircham Avenue, linking to Bowring Road, will be in place throughout.
