Couple mark 40 years with wedding car road trip

This summer, Gary and Sonia Brown will travel around Europe in the 1959 Mercedes used on their wedding day on 2 November, 1985.

The car was previously owned by a doctor from Marton who collected badges from countries like Italy, Spain and Portugal and placed them on the 220 S Ponton.

The pair, from Ormseby, Middlesbrough, want to recreate that journey and collect their own badges.

Gary says that the car, which he has owned since his teenage years, is “very sentimental” to him and his family.
