Town defibrillator destroyed twice in one month

A charity says it is "really disappointed" as one of its most used defibrillators has been vandalised for a second time in one month.

Trustees from DS43 Community Defibrillators found the cabinet hanging off the wall of the West View Project building on Miers Avenue, in Hartlepool, on the 17 January.

It follows a similar incident on 22 December, when it was found destroyed in a nearby field.

The defibrillator is one of 84 in the town, designed to save people in cardiac arrest.

One of the charity's founders, Pamela Shurmer, said to those responsible: "Just stop and think what it is you're doing."
