Woman quits job to run silent disco exercise group
A silent disco-themed exercise group has proven so popular that its founder left a 26-year-long career in education to run it full-time.
The Silent Steppers began in Hartlepool in 2024 to promote physical and mental wellbeing, originally with less than 10 members.
A year on, the group has dozens of attendees and has branched out into Billingham, with owner Lyndsay Turner often having to turn people away due to a lack of headphones.
Lyndsay says the friendships that have been formed by the women who attend are the "biggest success story" to come from the Steppers.
