Daffodil festival map created in Lego for first time
Thousands of visitors to an annual flower festival in a Cambridgeshire village will, for the first time, be able to find their way around with the help of a giant Lego map.
Resident Paul Earnshaw decided to combine his love of Lego and daffodils to create the map for the popular Thriplow Daffodil Weekend, on 21 and 22 March.
He said: "I used about 10,000 bricks to build the levels up so the church sits on a little hill... Then I am using the daffodil planting guides to get the flowers in the right places and pictures of key buildings in the village."
The daffodil weekend started in 1969 to help raise funds for major repairs to the village church roof. More than 400 volunteers now help keep the annual two-day event running.
