Stormy the pine marten sets up home at Stormont

Pine martens are a rare enough sight these days but one of the elusive creatures has taken up residence at the home of the Northern Ireland Assembly in Belfast.

As part of a conservation project, nocturnal cameras have been set up in the Stormont Estate to monitor the movements of the pine marten.

The mammals can be identified individually by their fur coats because they each have unique markings on their throat and chest area, known as a "bib".

This particular pine marten, filmed at woods behind Parliament Buildings, has been given the name Stormy.
