Austin residents react to bar shooting

Residents of Austin, Texas, described the mass shooting at a downtown bar as a "tragedy."

"This is a place where late at night people feel safe to drink, let loose, walk around. You never expect someone to do something like this here in downtown Austin", said local resident Bob Deprato.

Authorities say the gunman, who was killed by police, fatally shot at least three people and injured 14 others, and had a history of mental health issues.

Acting Special Agent in Charge Alex Doran, from the FBI's San Antonio office, said there were indications in the SUV and on the suspect that suggested a "nexus to terrorism".
