Kevin Sinfield meets family of boy who died of MND
Former rugby league star Kevin Sinfield has met the family of a teenage boy who died last week, aged just 14, less than a year after being diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND).
Ex-Leeds Rhinos player Sinfield joined the family of Kyle Sieniawski, from Pontypridd, Rhondda Cynon Taf, at Gorseinon Rugby Club, Swansea.
Sinfield was midway through his latest MND fundraising challenge - a series of ultramarathons - in honour of friend and former teammate Rob Burrow, who died with MND in 2024.
Kyle, who died on 27 November, is believed to be the youngest person to have died with MND in the UK. Sinfield told Kyle's parents, and elder brother, Liam, he would make sure Kyle would "always be remembered".
