'My whole head felt heavy,' says doctor whose brain 'exploded' abroad
A doctor from Caerphilly county was abroad when she was hit by a rare brain condition she knew nothing about.
Describing the symptoms of what turned out to be a cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak, Dr Bernadette Hard said: "My whole head felt heavy, like I could feel what was inside my skull, it felt weighted."
She collapsed and was rushed to hospital in Malta and eventually faced complicated surgery back home in the UK.
