Archive: Elderly villager sheds tear over pub loss
Archive video showed a man emotionally reminiscing in a former pub about how it was once the centre of village life.
The March 1973 clip was part of the BBC programme Man Alive, which discussed the demise of the traditional local.
The Sun pub in Old Buckenham, Norfolk, was closed by the brewery, but the landlady still allowed former customers to spend time in the building, where she had continued to live.
Sitting in his old drinking spot with a tear in his eye, Charlie Large, 75, said: "It makes you cry. It's a thing of the past. It used to be the mainstay of the village."
