Thousands of the Crooked House Christmas cards have been sold

Cards and calendars featuring the Crooked House pub have sold out after "absolutely amazing" demand.

The seasonal products were created by campaigners as part of their drive to rebuild the demolished pub in Himley.

Since they were announced, 750 calendars and 4,000 cards have been sold.

The Save the Crooked House (Let's Get it Rebuilt) group confirmed an additional 300 calendars and 5,000 cards were being printed.

Speaking to Radio WM, group member Ian Sandall said: "It just went completely mad. The website crashed three times. Demand has been absolutely amazing."

The pub, known as the UK's wonkiest inn, was hit by a fire on 5 August and was demolished less than two days later.

The campaign group was later formed with the intention to rebuild the Crooked House in its original state.

The cards and calendars feature slanted photos of the pub, with the cards containing the message: "Happy crooked Christmas."

The months in the calendar are spelled phonetically to reflect the local dialect.

"The cards and calendars are flying all over the world at the moment. We've got Australia orders, America, Canada," Mr Sandall said.

"It's just raising the profile across the globe."

It was hoped a pop-up shop outside the Dudley Arms in Himley, Staffordshire, would be back open for orders on Monday or Tuesday this week. They will also be available online.

Five people have been arrested in connection with the investigation into the events of August.
